I have a 1989 Toyota long bed pick up. The dash of course is trashed with huge cracks in it. I also don’t have a vent with louvers on the left side of the dash and I noticed there isn’t a vent assembly on this dash replacement either. Is there suppose to be just a hole there? Doesn’t make sense to me because on the inside there are little holes on either side, as if something would click into it. Also, is it hard to pull this assembly off my truck in order to replace this? I like to tinker with things and wouldn’t mind doing it if I don’t need special tools. Thanks for your YouTube posts and also this site!! It can’t be very hard to find parts for our senior trucks! lol
So that left vent is actually part of the ductwork and sits behind the dash bezel. When you remove the dash bezel, the vent will stay behind. Removing the entire bezel isn’t too difficult. There are some screws above the cluster for sure, and I think there may be a couple hidden ones below, on the underside. I’m not as familiar with the 89+ trucks as I am with the 84-88 trucks. The only tool should be a phillips screw driver.
